From humble beginnings in 1933, when Isaac and son Harry sold clothing off-cuts to woolen mills to recycle into blankets, MIG Australia has evolved to stay at the leading edge of quality bedding manufacturing.
In the early 1970s, polyester quilts began to emerge as an alternative to woollen blankets and feather and down doonas. Harry and his brother Dave saw an opportunity to take the company in a new direction. For the next 25 years, MIG Australia became the sole suppliers of wool and polyester filling to prominent Australian quilt maker Sleepmaster.
In 1995, Harry’s sons Barry and David took the company’s tradition of innovation to a new level, when they acquired state-of-the-art German technology to manufacture quilts and pillows. Today, this tradition continues, with David’s daughter Rebecca working to ensure MIG Australia remains at the forefront of the industry.
